Tom appears frequently on a wide

He is a regular on CNN’s Open
House, a weekend magazine
show where he teaches viewers
how to complete their own home
improvement projects. He appears
regularly on a variety of major
network news programming
including CNN, MSNBC, and
the History Channel. He
also hosts News 12’s
popular “Home Doctor”
segments, airing on 8 television
stations NY, NJ and CT, where
he draws more viewer mail than
any other station segment or
talent.
Tom was the remodeling columnist
for House Beautiful and
writes feature columns for
do! Magazine. He has
contributed to or been featured
in many national publications,
including Wall Street
Journal’s Smart Money Magazine,
The New York Times, Reader’s
Digest and Consumer's
Digest. His advice appears
in the best-selling book, The
Practical Guide to Practically
Everything.
Behind his media persona, Tom
has more than two decades of
experience as a professional
home inspector, former building
contractor and industrial arts
educator. He was selected by
New Jersey Governor Christine
Todd Whitman to chair the
state's first regulatory
authority for the licensing of
professional home inspectors
which he Chaired for several
years. He is also among a
select group of professionals
accepted by the New Jersey
Superior Court as an “expert
witness” in construction and
home inspection. He remains a
member in good standing of the
American Society of Home
Inspectors (ASHI).
Tom holds a BS in Industrial
Arts Technology Education from
Trenton State College and
completed an international
studies program in architecture
at the University of Copenhagen,
Denmark. He is also an
accomplished craftsman,
specializing in woodworking and
metalworking. |
