
Hilary Kramer is the
Finance Editor for
America Online and a regular
on the
Nightly Business Report on
PBS. She is a frequent
public speaker on financial
planning, investment management
and the global markets, and is
on the Wall Street Journal's
Women in Business Advisory Board.
She is a columnist for the
New York Post, and has
contributed to the Wall
Street Journal, the Fox
News Channel website and
SeekingAlpha.com. Hilary was
also a commentator and business
analyst at the Fox News
Channel and CNBC.
Ms. Kramer has extensive
expertise in global financial
management, asset allocation,
investment banking, and private
equity ventures. She began her
career in investment banking as
a financial analyst at Morgan
Stanley developing technical
models to analyze and develop a
full range of capital market
products for companies in the
industrial, transportation, and
technology sectors. These
products included preferred and
common stock, fixed income and
interest rate and currency
swaps. She also worked in the
capital markets division
analyzing equity and options
trading strategies for
institutional accounts.
After
graduating from the
Wharton School of Business,
Ms. Kramer was an assistant
brand manager in the
Betty Crocker division
of General Mills
where she coordinated trade
and promotional programs,
product improvement,
packaging and budget plans
for the group's flagship
brands. Ms. Kramer returned
to investment banking in
1992 and joined Lehman
Brothers as investment
banking associate where she
prepared financial analyses,
valuations, and proposals
and participated in due
diligence and prospectus
preparation for public
equity and debt offerings.
She also assisted the Head
of Strategic Planning and
Investment Banking with
financial and operations
management for the global
division.
Between 1994 and 2002, Ms.
Kramer expanded her global
and private equity
investment experience at the
Cisneros Group. With
over 70 companies in 39
countries and annual revenue
of $4.0 billion, the
Cisneros Group of Companies
is one of the largest
privately held broadcast,
media, technology, consumer
products and
telecommunications
organizations in the world.
As Senior Managing Director,
Ms. Kramer managed the New
York operations, working on
investment strategies as
well as execution of the
Group's private equity
investments, joint venture
partnerships and acquisition
initiatives.
Ms. Kramer also served on
the Board of Directors of
the Ibero American Media
Partners' Fund (IAMP).
Established in 1997 and
jointly owned by Hicks,
Muse, Tate & Furst, Inc.
and the Cisneros Group,
this was a $500 million
private equity fund focused
on media and broadcast
investments,. Ms. Kramer
also served on the Board of
Directors of RSL
Communications,
Connectadas and
Claxson Interactive Group
Inc, one of Latin
America's most successful
multiplatform programming
companies comprised of 14
pay television channels,
Ibero-American Radio Chile,
AEI Music Latin America,
an investment in
ArtistsDirect.com and
El Sitio.
Until February 2003, Ms.
Kramer served as Chief
Investment Strategist and
Advisor at Montgomery
Asset Management, a
global money management firm
with $7.5 billion in assets
under management and 150,000
individual and institutional
clients.
Ms. Kramer graduated cum
laude from Wellesley
College with a BA in
Political Science and Latin
American Studies in 1986 and
received her MBA in finance
and marketing from the
Wharton School at the
University of Pennsylvania
in 1991. She also a Trustee
of the Hewitt School
in New York City and was
formerly a board member of
both the Colombian
American and
Venezuelan American
Associations. Ms. Kramer
is an avid golfer and was
Captain of her college golf
team and President of the
Wharton Golf Club.
